Bulk Reef Supply Merges with Neptune Systems
Last updated on November 17th, 2023

BRS merges with Neptune
On June 26th it was announced that Bulk Reef Supply (BRS) has merged with Neptune Systems! Little is known about the changes that will come from the merger. There are a few things we know though!
Terrance from Neptune Systems and Ryan from BRS have had a strong relationship for quite some time. This makes it seemingly more natural that the companies merge. More importantly, Ryan is closer to the end user, knowing what we want and need for our reef tanks. With the merger, Ryan and the BRS team will have a stronger influence on the Neptune priorities.

Though there is naturally a concern that BRS is going to have a much stronger push for Neptune products, as opposed to competitors such as GHL, EcoTech, SICCE, and more, I think much of this was put to rest. During the conversation with Terrance, Ryan openly said that on his own tank, there are some non-Neptune products he likes better.
For example, Ryan is using SICCE powerheads, and the Tunze Osmolator ATO, as opposed to the Neptune WAV and Neptune ATK. This means 2 things for the reefing community. First, that BRS is still encouraging the best products, not just the ones that hit the bottom line.
Second, that there will be much more influence from Bulk Reef Supply on the Neptune team to make their products better. Meaning better, cooler products will be available from Neptune Systems!
What are some of the products mentioned as a priority? Based on the video below, this is what we know BRS is influencing.
- Trident 2 - Nitrate and Phosphate measurement
- Apex ELMO - Apex EL Monitor Only
- Full Redundant Control Apex - A step above what we already have
- Pinch Valve for CO2 Control
- TDS Meters
- Neptune Apex RO System
Though we can't confirm a time or even if these will actually come to fruition, it is exciting to see that there is an influence pushing for these products!

Conclusion
Though there is MUCH still up in the air about the Bulk Reef Supply merger with Neptune, it is definitely an exciting time to be part of the reefing community! Keep up the great work BRS and Neptune! I am excited to see where this merger goes!
